More Tests...More Prayers Needed

First of all, Taylor did make it to jammie day at preschool. She LOVED wearing her jammies and taking her beloved bear with her. The fever did pass - still don't know why she had it. All of the bloodwork has come back normal (that included a CBC, sed rate, immune function, etc.) and the special urine sample (checking for unusual fever syndromes) should be back any day.

Now onto new tests: Taylor is still having episodes of pain on her right side when we urinates. Technically, the only time renal reflux should be painful is if there is bacteria present. We have ruled out infection recently, so her Urologist would like to look further. There is a possibility that too much urine is backing up into that kidney and causing pressure - who knows. Therefore we are heading back to Cincy on Monday for another test. This test is another one that isn't so much fun (she will need a cath), so please pray for her as she endures more poking and prodding.

Bryce's turn: Our little man is still having numerous episodes of acid reflux again. He is on the highest dose of meds for his size, so he is going to have an endoscopy on Tuesday in Indy. This will be his first time under anesthesia, so please pray he will go under and come out just fine.

Another week of medical junk - another week of watching my kids go through tests. Pray, pray, pray and hand it over to the Lord. Please join us in praying for the strength to endure these trials. "My strength is made perfect in weakness." II Corinthians 12:9

"Our faith is stretched by exchanging our weakness for God's strength."

We'll finish with some fun pics:
Clown Taylor gets ready to head to school for "Under the Big Top" week.

Taylor "making tea" on Valentine's Day.
Beautiful tulips (my absolute favorite!) from Neal and the kids.
This is the only way Bryce will "smile" for a picture these days. Isn't so funny?!
Brother and sister snuggling together. They aren't always beating up on each other. :)

We will update next week after both of their tests. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers.

Correction

Just wanted to make a quick note that we will be following up at the end of May instead of July. We decided not to wait a full 6 months after we researched all of the information on her condition. Children that have higher grades of reflux (she is grade IV on the right side and II on the left) and reflux in both kidneys are much less likely to "grow out of" it.

We would rather face surgery earlier in the summer and have plenty of time to heal and possibly potty train before the next school year.

Taylor isn't feeling well. She is running another low grade fever. She went yesterday to give a urine sample (which she could barely get enough out so we will need to redo that again today) and she gave 3 vials of blood. This is for the tests that the Pediatric Rheumatologist ordered. She is having a full work up including immune function. It will take a couple of weeks to get all of the results for these tests. We are trying to leave no stone unturned.

Please pray this fever passes SOON! This is an extra special week at school and we don't want her to miss Thursday. The kids are allowed to wear their jammies and bring their teddy bears for a teddy bear picnic. What fun!
